Is my joint pain menopause symptoms?
Yesterday morning, I woke up with joint pain. To be specific, a tennis elbow. It got so bad yesterday that just picking up something is painful. Here I am, someone who is relatively active and never experienced joint pain. I thought it might be an injury but couldn’t think of anything. I haven’t done upper body work in the gym recently. When I woke up this morning with the other elbow also painful, it suddenly struck me. Hello, menopause! Joint and muscle pain is one of the symptoms we just need to deal with. Many factors, like changes in hormone levels, nutrition and stress could cause inflammation in our body.
‘I will not sit around and let the pain stop me from having a quality of life’ I did let my nutrition slip the past few days, dabbled in refined sugar, and had one or two almond croissants too many. I will not beat myself up but get back into the saddle, take notes, move on, and make changes.
I will eat more of the foods that make me feel good, like
Berries
Fatty fish
Avocados
Turmeric
Extra virgin olive oil
Dark chocolate and cocoa
Cherries
Taking Omega-3 and DHEA daily
Other foods on the list are broccoli, green tea, peppers, mushrooms, grapes, and tomatoes. These foods don’t make me feel good and do not sit well with me, so I will also avoid them. I will also avoid processed foods, trans fats, red meat, white flour, bread, refined sugar and alcohol.
I can hear you say that sounds like a restricted diet. No, I won’t call it a diet. It is behaviour changes.
I am a woman on a mission, and I want to feel good and have a good quality of life without having to be on a strict diet or dealing with diseases or symptoms. We can achieve so much with a few changes in behaviour and daily habits.
